We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Rehnuma Awaz project, a groundbreaking initiative proudly funded by the Ignite – National Technology Fund. This project marks a significant step towards enabling visually impaired individuals to access digital content in Urdu seamlessly across multiple platforms.
Addressing a Critical Need
For individuals who are unable to see screens, screen readers serve as vital tools for navigating digital platforms. However, the lack of an industry-standard screen reader for the Urdu language has posed major accessibility challenges. This gap has left millions of Urdu-speaking visually impaired users struggling to interact with digital platforms such as Windows, Android, and iOS.
According to recent estimates, over 2 million people in Pakistan are visually impaired. These individuals face significant barriers in accessing information, education, and employment opportunities due to the unavailability of localized assistive technologies. Recognizing this pressing need, Centangle Interactive is proud to step forward with a solution.
Our Vision
With the generous support of Ignite, we are committed to creating a state-of-the-art screen reader specifically designed for the Urdu language. Our vision is to empower the visually impaired community by providing equal access to digital resources, enabling greater independence and inclusion in the digital world.
Join Us in Making a Difference
This project is more than just technology; it’s about breaking down barriers and opening doors to new possibilities for millions of people. At Centangle Interactive, we believe that digital accessibility should be a right, not a privilege.
Stay connected with us as we share updates on our progress. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in creating a more inclusive and accessible digital future.
