Large Content Catalogue
Thousands of movies, television shows, actors, trailers, and related records needed to remain searchable and easy to explore.
FilmTrik Web and Mobile App Design
Centangle designed the web and mobile experience for FilmTrik, a movie database startup created to help users discover films, television shows, actors, trailers, ratings, nearby cinemas, and ticketing options through one connected platform. The experience combined rich entertainment content with cinema discovery, seat information, ticket management, social sharing, and personalised user features.

Project Overview
FilmTrik was designed as an entertainment platform where users could search a large catalogue of movies, television shows, and actors while accessing trailers, ratings, title information, cinema options, and ticketing features. Centangle created connected web and mobile interfaces that brought content discovery, audience engagement, and cinema planning into one recognisable experience.

The Mandate
The requirement was to create interfaces that could support a broad movie database without making content difficult to explore. FilmTrik needed to help users search titles and actors, watch trailers, review ratings, create profiles, find nearby cinemas, check seat availability, purchase tickets and concession items, manage bookings, and share content across both desktop and mobile environments.
The Environment
Movie audiences often move between search engines, trailer platforms, rating websites, cinema listings, and ticketing services before deciding what to watch. FilmTrik needed to connect these activities through one experience, giving users enough information to explore entertainment content while also helping them move from discovery to cinema planning and ticket purchase.
Our Role
Centangle worked on the FilmTrik website and mobile application experience, structuring movie discovery, content search, profiles, trailers, ratings, cinema access, ticketing, and mobile ticket management. The work focused on creating a visually engaging entertainment interface while keeping high-volume content and frequent user actions clear and accessible.
The Challenge
Movie platforms contain large volumes of information, including films, television shows, actors, trailers, ratings, reviews, cinema locations, schedules, seats, and tickets. Without a clear structure, users can become overwhelmed or need to move between several services to complete a simple journey.
The challenge was to create interfaces that could present rich media and detailed information while remaining easy to browse. The experience also needed to connect discovery with practical actions such as locating cinemas, checking availability, purchasing tickets, viewing bookings, and sharing movie information.

Thousands of movies, television shows, actors, trailers, and related records needed to remain searchable and easy to explore.
Users needed a clearer route from discovering a movie to finding a cinema, checking seats, and purchasing tickets.
The website and mobile application needed to provide a connected experience while adapting appropriately to different screen sizes and usage contexts.
Movie imagery, trailers, ratings, information, profiles, and ticketing actions had to remain visible without making the interface feel crowded.
The Solution
Centangle designed FilmTrik as a unified web and mobile experience that combined movie, television, and actor search with trailers, ratings, profiles, cinema discovery, seat availability, ticket purchasing, concession ordering, and mobile ticket management. The interface system helped users move naturally from exploring entertainment content to planning and managing a cinema visit.
System Architecture
The FilmTrik experience organised entertainment content through prominent search, visual movie listings, trailers, ratings, title details, user activity, and direct ticketing actions. The website supported deeper catalogue exploration while the mobile application prioritised quick access to nearby cinemas, bookings, movie details, ratings, and sharing.
Users could search a broad catalogue of movies, television shows, and actors through a clearly positioned discovery experience.
Users could identify nearby cinemas, review availability, purchase movie tickets, and access cinema-related options from mobile devices.
Personal profiles, ratings, sharing, and saved activity created a more individual and participatory entertainment experience.
FEATURE 01
A prominent search experience helps users explore a broad entertainment catalogue and find specific movies, television shows, performers, and related content.
FEATURE 02
Title pages combine trailers, artwork, information, ratings, and related options so users can evaluate a movie without moving between different platforms.
FEATURE 03
Users can create profiles, maintain their identity within the platform, record ratings, access activity, and engage with entertainment content more personally.
FEATURE 04
The mobile experience helps users identify cinemas located near them, connecting online movie discovery with local viewing options.
FEATURE 05
Users can review cinema availability, purchase movie tickets and concession items, and access their bookings through the mobile application.
FEATURE 06
Audience ratings, content sharing, and visible platform activity create a more interactive experience around movie discovery and decision-making.
The FilmTrik project followed a digital product design process focused on organising entertainment content, defining audience journeys, structuring cinema-related actions, and creating a consistent experience across desktop and mobile devices.
PHASE ONE
Understanding the movie database concept, audience discovery behaviour, cinema planning needs, and the relationship between content and ticketing.
PHASE TWO
Organising movies, television shows, actors, trailers, profiles, ratings, theatres, seats, tickets, and related actions within the platform.
PHASE THREE
Designing the main website interface around search, featured content, movie listings, trailers, platform statistics, and audience activity.
PHASE FOUR
Adapting the experience for mobile use with greater emphasis on search, nearby cinemas, seat availability, ticket records, ratings, and sharing.
PHASE FIVE
Refining typography, colours, imagery, interface components, and cross-platform consistency while aligning the experience with the documented web and mobile technology direction.
The interface system was designed around the complete audience journey, from searching for entertainment and watching trailers to reviewing ratings, finding cinemas, purchasing tickets, and accessing bookings on mobile devices. Web screens supported deeper exploration, while mobile views prioritised faster access to location-based and cinema-related actions.
